West Fork, AR – A man and woman were found dead Saturday afternoon on a trail at Devil’s Den State Park, prompting a double homicide investigation by Arkansas State Police.
According to the Arkansas State Police, troopers were called to the scene around 2:40 p.m. Saturday, where the bodies of a 43-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were discovered. The agency’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has taken over the case.
Authorities say the suspect is described as an unknown white male last seen wearing dark shorts, a black tank top and weight-lifting gloves. He was reportedly driving a black, four-door sedan—possibly a Mazda—with a license plate covered by electrical or duct tape. The vehicle may have been headed toward State Highway 170 or State Highway 220, which run near the park.
Law enforcement has maintained a strong presence at the state park as the investigation continues. Officers are following multiple leads in an effort to locate the suspect.
The bodies will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
