Little Rock, AR – Arkansas residents are in for a sweltering day as temperatures across the state are expected to reach the mid-80s to upper 90s. The National Weather Service in Little Rock has forecasted highs of up to 98°F in some areas, particularly in central and southern regions, with Little Rock, Hot Springs, and Pine Bluff likely seeing some of the hottest conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, rain chances are highest in the northeastern and eastern parts of the state. Areas like Jonesboro, Hardy, and West Memphis may experience scattered showers, with rain probabilities ranging from 50% to 60%. The rest of the state will likely remain dry, although isolated storms are not entirely ruled out.

The heatwave is expected to persist through the week, with Thursday and Friday temperatures forecasted to peak at 100°F and 101°F, respectively. Nighttime lows will offer little relief, dipping only into the mid-70s. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and be mindful of potential heat-related illnesses.

Looking ahead, slightly cooler conditions are expected next week, with highs dropping into the lower 90s and 80s, accompanied by a slight decrease in humidity. However, the weekend is expected to remain hot, with temperatures in the mid-to-upper 90s across much of the state.
