Shreveport, Louisiana – A warm front sliding northeast across the Ark-La-Tex is delivering a noticeable temperature boost today, sending afternoon highs climbing into the 60s and even near 70 degrees across parts of east Texas, northwest Louisiana, and southern Arkansas.
According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, the warm front will lift through east Texas this afternoon before clearing the region tonight. As it passes, temperatures are expected to peak in the upper 60s to near 70 in areas such as Tyler, Longview, Shreveport, and Texarkana. Farther north and east, highs remain solidly in the 60s, marking a well-above-normal January afternoon.
As the warm front moves out this evening, clouds will begin to increase again across the region. Overnight lows will stay mild, generally falling only into the 50s to lower 60s from Shreveport and Monroe westward into east Texas. The added cloud cover will limit cooling overnight, keeping temperatures comfortable but signaling a more active pattern ahead.
Drivers and outdoor workers can expect generally quiet conditions today, with no rain expected during daylight hours. The warming trend may also bring patchy low clouds later tonight, especially in areas that hold onto higher humidity behind the front.
Forecasters note this warm surge is part of a broader pattern shift, with additional changes possible later this week. Residents are encouraged to stay weather-aware as the next system approaches and more updates are issued.
