Shreveport, LA – Residents across the Four State Region — including parts of Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma — should prepare for a round of strong to severe thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and evening.
According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, a Level 2 out of 5 (Slight Risk) for severe weather has been issued, covering much of the region from Texarkana to Shreveport and north into southern Arkansas. The storms are expected to develop early Saturday afternoon and continue through the evening as a cold front moves in from the west.
Forecasters warn that storms could produce damaging wind gusts, hail, and isolated tornadoes, particularly in areas with higher instability and wind shear. While rainfall will be beneficial for drought relief, localized flooding could occur where heavy downpours persist.
Meteorologists urge residents to stay alert and have multiple ways to receive weather warnings, especially during the late afternoon and evening hours when conditions could rapidly deteriorate.
