Shreveport, LA – After a brief warm-up today, a reinforcing cold front will move through the Ark-La-Tex region late tonight, bringing gusty winds, cooler temperatures, and scattered showers, according to the US National Weather Service Shreveport.

Highs today will reach the upper 70s to near 80°F, fueled by southerly winds ahead of the approaching front. Winds will turn gusty through the afternoon as Gulf moisture returns, increasing humidity and setting the stage for overnight rain chances.

By midnight, the front is expected to push south across I-30, with showers developing mainly north of Shreveport and expanding into parts of east Texas and southern Arkansas early Tuesday. Lows will fall into the mid-50s by morning.

Tuesday will bring cooler, drier air with highs in the 60s and breezy northwest winds. The rest of the week is expected to stay seasonably cool with additional fronts possible late week.

Residents should secure loose outdoor items and prepare for brief downpours and gusty winds overnight.
