Flagstaff, AZ — A winter storm is bringing heavy snow and gusty winds to northern Arizona, creating dangerous travel conditions across the region. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 6 p.m. Friday, warning of hazardous roads, reduced visibility, and snowfall amounts between 4 to 8 inches in Flagstaff.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will continue through Friday morning before tapering off in the afternoon. Winds up to 40 mph could cause blowing snow, making travel especially hazardous on I-40 and U.S. Route 180. Officials urge drivers to avoid non-essential travel, as slick roads and poor visibility could impact both the morning and evening commutes.

Looking ahead, conditions will improve this weekend. Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid-40s, while Sunday warms up to the low 50s under clear skies. A mild pattern continues into next week, with partly cloudy skies and seasonable temperatures expected through midweek.
