Flagstaff, AZ – Northern Arizona will enjoy an extended stretch of unseasonably warm and calm weather this week, with temperatures climbing well above typical early-December levels, according to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff.

Forecasters say high temperatures will rise steadily through midweek, reaching 10 to 20 degrees above normal in many locations. Cities such as Camp Verde, Sedona, Prescott, and Winslow are expected to see highs in the upper 60s to mid-70s by Wednesday and Thursday. Even typically cooler spots like Flagstaff will warm into the upper 50s by midweek before gradually cooling into the weekend.

Skies are expected to remain mostly clear through Sunday, with only occasional passing high clouds. Light daytime winds will accompany the warm pattern, offering quiet and stable conditions ideal for outdoor activity and travel.

Overnight lows will moderate as well, staying mainly in the 30s and 40s across most of the region through midweek. No rain or snow is in the forecast, and no significant weather systems are expected to impact the region through at least next weekend.

Residents and visitors should anticipate bright days, mild afternoons, and calm winds—an unusual but welcome stretch of tranquil December weather across the high country.
