Phoenix, AZ – The National Weather Service in Phoenix has confirmed that a weak, short-lived tornado touched down near Forepaugh, Arizona on Tuesday, November 18, producing wind speeds up to 80–85 mph and minor property damage.

According to the NWS preliminary damage survey, the tornado was rated EF-0, the lowest on the Enhanced Fujita scale. It briefly touched down around 4:23 p.m. MST, damaging property along U.S. Highway 60 and 439th Avenue in Maricopa County, roughly 10 miles east of Aguila.

Officials say the storm flipped an RV trailer, caused minor damage to other vehicles, and tore part of a garage roof. The assessment was aided by public and eyewitness reports, as well as photos and radar data.

While Arizona averages only a handful of tornadoes each year, meteorologists emphasize that brief, localized events like this can occur under the right atmospheric conditions, particularly during fall and winter storm systems.

No injuries were reported from the incident.
