According to the National Weather Service, slight chances of rain begin Tuesday afternoon, followed by stronger wind gusts near 29 mph by Wednesday morning. By Friday night into Saturday, a mix of rain and snow could create hazardous travel conditions along I-40 and surrounding mountain passes. Residents are urged to monitor local forecasts and prepare for shifting conditions as temperatures swing from highs near 70°F to lows around 27°F.
Tuesday will be partly sunny with highs in the mid-60s, but a 20% chance of showers could dampen the afternoon. Winds will pick up through Wednesday, with gusts reaching 29 mph during the day and 24 mph Wednesday night.
Thursday remains dry but breezy with gusts as high as 33 mph. More significant changes arrive Friday when showers develop before 11 a.m., increasing to a 40% chance of precipitation by nightfall. A thunderstorm is also possible, with rain transitioning to snow in higher elevations into Saturday morning.
