Arizona wakes up under crystal-clear desert skies as the first light hits Camelback Mountain and traffic builds along Loop 202. It’s 66 degrees at Sky Harbor late this morning, with dry air and calm winds setting the stage for a rapid warm-up.
Sunshine dominates today, and temperatures surge to 91 degrees by mid-afternoon. Light winds turn west-southwest at 5 to 10 mph. Hydrate early if you’re working outdoors. This is early March, but it will feel closer to late April.
Skies stay mostly clear tonight with lows dipping to 59 degrees. Tuesday remains sunny and warm, with highs near 86 degrees. Winds stay light, and the dry pattern holds firm across the Valley.
Wednesday keeps the spring warmth going with highs again near 86 degrees under mostly clear skies. By Thursday, a subtle shift drops highs to around 80 degrees, still well above seasonal norms. Friday trends slightly cooler at 77 degrees with abundant sunshine.
This warming trend reflects a broader ridge building across much of the West. While other parts of the country track mixed precipitation and even snow, the desert Southwest leans fully into early spring heat.
We gain roughly 40 to 60 minutes of daylight across southern Arizona this month. Most of the nation springs clocks ahead at 2 a.m. Sunday. Arizona does not observe the time change, but lighter evenings are noticeable nationwide.
Looking ahead into the 6–10 day outlook, temperatures remain near to slightly above normal, reinforcing the dry and stable pattern.
