Phoenix, Arizona – Spotty showers and isolated thunderstorms will linger across south-central Arizona through Tuesday, bringing a chance for slick roads and patchy blowing dust in the Phoenix metro area and beyond.

According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, light showers and virga will be possible early Monday, with a 10% chance in the morning hours. The risk for afternoon thunderstorms increases south of Phoenix, with gusty outflows from the southeast capable of producing areas of blowing dust, especially along major roadways like I-10 and US-60.

Tuesday morning could see slightly better chances for rain (10–40%) before activity shifts east of Phoenix by the evening. Commuters should prepare for wet roads, sudden low visibility, and gusty winds with any thunderstorm outflows. Afternoon and evening storms may create localized hazards, particularly in southern Maricopa and Pinal counties.

Residents are advised to stay weather-aware, use extra caution while driving, and secure loose outdoor items that could become airborne in strong winds. The weather pattern is expected to dry out midweek, but more advisories may be issued if conditions worsen.

Stay tuned for updates, as slight rain and storm chances remain in effect until Tuesday night.
