Phoenix, Arizona – Summer heat is charging into the Valley this week, with Phoenix set to hit a scorching 104°F by Thursday as dry winds whip across the metro. Daytime highs will steadily climb through midweek, triggering a weather alert for heat safety and increased fire risk across Maricopa County and along I-10.

According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, breezy conditions will persist through Monday and Tuesday, with gusts up to 25 mph Monday and wind speeds around 15 mph into Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday’s high will reach 97°F under clear skies, and overnight lows will hover in the upper 60s and low 70s, offering little overnight relief.

Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity, stay hydrated, and check vehicles for children and pets, especially as temperatures spike by midweek. The southwest winds will settle Wednesday, but heat will peak on Thursday, with highs near 104°F and full sun.

Looking ahead, Friday and Saturday will hold near triple-digit highs—102°F Friday, 99°F Saturday—with mostly clear skies and mild evening lows. Wind speeds are expected to calm slightly but remain variable through the weekend.

No precipitation is in sight, and humidity remains extremely low, reinforcing fire danger concerns, particularly in the foothills and dry brush zones. Officials advise avoiding open flames and ensuring vehicles aren’t parked over dry grass.
