Phoenix, Arizona – Dangerously high temperatures continue to bake Arizona this afternoon, with Phoenix and El Centro each reaching 109°F and no immediate relief in sight.

According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, cities across southern and central Arizona—including Blythe at 108°F, Yuma at 106°F, and Casa Grande at 105°F—are experiencing heat consistent with the last several days. Globe, though slightly cooler at 98°F, still faces elevated heat risks. Affected regions are urged to minimize outdoor activity, hydrate frequently, and check on vulnerable neighbors.

The excessive heat is particularly dangerous for outdoor workers, unhoused individuals, and those without adequate air conditioning. Residents in Wickenburg (101°F) and surrounding Maricopa County communities are advised to seek shade, wear light clothing, and never leave children or pets in parked vehicles.

Cooling centers remain open throughout the Phoenix metro area, and power providers have issued energy conservation alerts. These temperatures rival early June heat records and will persist into the evening, with limited overnight cooling.

Heat advisories remain in effect through Thursday. Another update will follow if temperatures climb further or new warnings are issued.
