Flagstaff drivers could face tricky fog patches early Monday morning before Arizona transitions into a stretch of clear, sunny days. The shift comes just ahead of October, with temperatures climbing steadily by midweek and holding through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, visibility may drop along I-40 and nearby roadways until 9 a.m. Monday. Motorists should allow extra travel time and keep headlights on low beam when crossing higher elevations east and west of Flagstaff. By late morning, the fog will clear, leaving behind sunshine and highs near 68 degrees.

Temperatures rise Tuesday and Wednesday, topping out near 71 by midweek. Winds remain light, though gusts could reach 22 mph in exposed areas Tuesday afternoon. The dry, stable pattern strengthens into Thursday and Friday, when highs climb into the lower 70s.

Evenings will feel crisp. Nighttime lows dip into the low 40s much of the week, which could mean chilly starts for commuters and early risers. Campers in Coconino County should pack layers, as winds may gust up to 23 mph by Saturday night.

This dry and sunny stretch marks a sharp turn into fall for northern Arizona. No storms or rain appear on the horizon, giving residents a window for safe travel, outdoor projects, and firewood preparation before colder October systems arrive.

Warnings are not in effect now, but officials urge residents to monitor updates as fall weather can shift quickly.
