Arizona – Drivers in Arizona’s Superior area will face US 60 closures this week for blasting operations related to the Queen Creek and Waterfall Canyon Bridges Replacement Project. The road will close from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, affecting travel between Superior and Miami.
According to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), US 60 will close between mileposts 227 and 243. Speed limits will be reduced to 35 mph near milepost 228, where a lane shift is in place east of Queen Creek Bridge.
Flagging operations are likely before and after the full closures. ADOT advises that eastbound drivers detour via southbound State Route 177, while westbound drivers use northbound State Route 77 through Winkelman. This detour could add an hour to travel.
Drivers are urged to plan around the closures. For real-time updates, ADOT suggests checking the AZ511 website or mobile apps.
