Flagstaff, Arizona Dry winds pushing up to 29 mph will sweep through Flagstaff on Tuesday, raising fire concerns and complicating travel along I-40 and U.S. Route 89. The National Weather Service expects temperatures to reach 79°F by midday, paired with low humidity and increasing southwest winds — a dangerous mix for wildland fire potential and visibility for high-profile vehicles.

According to the NWS Flagstaff office, wind gusts will build from 11 a.m. through late afternoon, peaking near 29 mph in exposed areas. Drivers, especially those hauling trailers or traveling through open terrain, should anticipate sudden gusts and reduced control. Outdoor workers and hikers near Walnut Canyon and the San Francisco Peaks are urged to hydrate frequently and remain alert for shifting dust or debris.

The rest of the day remains dry and sunny, with skies staying clear into Tuesday night. Although temperatures will dip to around 42°F overnight, no precipitation or storm activity is expected.

Heading into the latter half of the week, conditions remain stable with above-average highs and persistent sunshine. However, afternoon breezes continue through Thursday, with gusts up to 22 mph.

Five-Day Flagstaff Forecast (June 23–28):
