Flagstaff, AZ – After a cold and snowy start to the week, Flagstaff will see a brief break in winter conditions on Tuesday with sunny skies and milder temperatures. However, the relief won’t last long as more snow and gusty winds are expected midweek, creating hazardous travel conditions on major roadways like I-40 and US-180.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will bring mostly sunny skies with a high of 51°F and light winds between 5-13 mph. By Tuesday night, temperatures will drop to 24°F, with winds calming before a midweek system moves in.

On Wednesday night, a strong storm system will bring a mix of rain and snow, with gusts reaching 26 mph. By Thursday, Flagstaff could see heavy snowfall with accumulations over two inches and wind gusts up to 34 mph, leading to reduced visibility and slick roads. Drivers on I-40, I-17, and local highways should prepare for possible delays and changing road conditions.

Five-Day Flagstaff Weather Outlook:

Tuesday: Sunny, high 51°F.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, high 56°F, with snow moving in late.

Thursday: Heavy snow and strong winds, high 39°F.

Friday: Snow showers possible, high 38°F.
