Flagstaff, AZ – Spring may be near, but winter weather isn’t done with Arizona just yet. Snow showers, strong winds, and frigid temperatures are set to impact Flagstaff throughout the week, creating hazardous travel conditions and disrupting daily routines.

According to the National Weather Service, snow showers will begin late Tuesday night, with a 60% chance of precipitation and gusty winds up to 15 mph. Wednesday will bring a mix of rain and snow, followed by heavier snowfall and strong winds on Thursday, when gusts could reach 40 mph. Accumulations may cause slick roads, especially on I-40 and US-180.

By Thursday night, widespread snow is expected, reducing visibility and making travel dangerous. Residents should prepare for delays and check road conditions before heading out. The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to carry emergency kits, including blankets, food, and water.

Looking ahead, Friday may see lingering snow showers in the morning before skies begin clearing. However, gusty winds will persist, making for a chilly start to the weekend. Saturday and Sunday are expected to be partly sunny, but temperatures will remain cool, with highs in the 40s and overnight lows in the 20s.

Drivers and residents should stay updated on weather alerts and be cautious on icy roads. More updates will follow as conditions develop.
