PHOENIX, Ariz. – After a brief taste of mild October mornings, Phoenix is heating back up with near-triple-digit temperatures expected through midweek before a slight chance of storms by Friday.
According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, highs will climb from the low 90s Monday to around 99°F by Wednesday and Thursday under mostly sunny skies. Winds will stay light early in the week, shifting from the east to the southwest as warmer, drier air builds over the Valley.
By Thursday night, humidity is forecast to rise slightly, introducing a 20 percent chance of showers into Friday. A few rumbles of thunder could reach parts of Glendale, Mesa, and Chandler as lingering monsoon moisture drifts back into central Arizona.
Drivers should watch for slick roads in the late afternoon hours if storms develop, though the overall rain threat remains low. Outdoor workers are urged to hydrate and limit exposure during peak heat hours through Wednesday.
Dry and mostly sunny conditions are expected to return by Sunday, with temperatures easing slightly into the upper 80s.
