Tucson, Arizona – Dangerous heat continues to grip southern Arizona this week, with temperatures expected to hit a brutal 114°F on Thursday and remain in the triple digits through Friday evening. An Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect until 8 p.m. MST Friday for much of southeast Arizona, including Pima, Cochise, and Pinal counties.

According to the National Weather Service in Tucson, Wednesday’s highs will climb near 112°F before peaking Thursday. Overnight lows are offering little relief, staying in the low 80s. Heat-related illnesses are likely without proper precautions, especially for those working or active outdoors. The region is also seeing a slight chance for afternoon thunderstorms each day, which could briefly cool localized areas but won’t break the broader heat pattern.

Wednesday: Sunny with isolated storms after 2 p.m., high near 112°F.
Thursday: Peak heat of 114°F, slight thunderstorm chances after 11 a.m.
Friday: High of 108°F, still dangerously hot.
Saturday: Slight cooldown, but still around 105°F.
Sunday: Continued heat, high of 106°F with storm chances.

Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity, stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Heat stroke can occur quickly—seek shade or air conditioning, and call 911 in an emergency. More alerts are possible if monsoon storms develop over the weekend.
