Phoenix, AZ – A relentless stretch of extreme heat will grip Phoenix through the weekend, with daytime highs climbing above 105°F and peaking near 108°F by Saturday, putting residents at increased risk of heat-related illness.

According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, temperatures are expected to hit 102°F Tuesday and steadily rise to 107°F by Friday and 108°F Saturday. Overnight lows will offer little relief, hovering in the upper 70s to low 80s each night. A high-pressure ridge over the Southwest is fueling the prolonged heat wave, with no significant cooling expected through early next week.

The hottest conditions will affect central and western Maricopa County, including Glendale, Tempe, and Goodyear. Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., stay hydrated, and avoid leaving children or pets in vehicles. Power demand is expected to spike, and cooling centers remain open across the Valley.

This is the region’s first major heat event of summer 2025, with highs trending near record levels for late June. Officials warn the extreme temperatures may last into Monday, when Phoenix could reach 112°F.

Stay tuned for any Excessive Heat Warnings or updates as conditions evolve.
