Apple Watch Used to Alert Authorities in Indiana Domestic Incident involving Minor, Cat

DeMotte, Indiana – An Apple Watch played a crucial role in alerting authorities to a recent domestic battery incident involving a minor. 

According to Jasper County Sheriff’s Department reports it happened near DeMotte, Indiana, on November 4, 2023, when a victim used her Apple Watch to contact law enforcement during a confrontation where Mitchell J. Kristoff, 30, allegedly engaged in animal cruelty and minor domestic battery. 

Kristoff is accused of allegedly harming a cat and physically restraining his spouse from calling 911. He faces charges including Cruelty to an Animal (Class A Misdemeanor) and Domestic Battery on a Person Less than 14 Years Old (Level 6 Felony). 

Kristoff is currently detained at the Jasper County Law Enforcement Detention Center.
