Antioch, Illinois – A three-vehicle crash at a north Antioch intersection left one driver hospitalized Thursday.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at the intersection of Hunt Club Road and State Line Road in unincorporated Antioch.

Authorities said a 2026 Dodge Durango, driven by a 49-year-old Salem, Wisconsin man, was stopped at a stop sign on northbound Hunt Club Road. A 2020 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by a 48-year-old Trevor, Wisconsin man, was also stopped behind the Durango.

Investigators said a 2017 Toyota Yaris, driven by a 32-year-old Zion man, allegedly failed to reduce speed while traveling northbound and rear-ended the Colorado at a high rate of speed. The impact pushed the Colorado into the Durango and caused the Durango to leave the roadway.

The Zion driver was transported by the Newport Fire Department to an area hospital in serious but non-life-threatening condition. The drivers of the Durango and Colorado declined medical treatment at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team.

The intersection sits near the Illinois-Wisconsin border and is frequently used by commuters traveling between Antioch and southeastern Wisconsin.
