Chicago, IL – The National Weather Service in Chicago reports another round of accumulating snow is expected Monday afternoon into Monday night, potentially impacting the evening commute across northern Illinois and northwest Indiana.

Forecasters say a developing system will bring light to moderate snow, with hazardous travel conditions possible as temperatures remain below freezing. Snowfall rates could briefly reduce visibility, especially north of Interstate 80, where the highest totals are anticipated.

According to the NWS, snow will taper off Tuesday morning, followed by another chance for light snow Wednesday, mainly north of I-80. Daytime highs will stay in the 20s and lower 30s, with overnight lows in the teens through midweek.

Drivers are urged to use caution, allow extra travel time, and stay updated on local road conditions. Additional advisories may be issued as the system approaches.
