Miami, FL — Another blast of cold air is expected to move into South Florida late tonight and persist into early Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Miami.

Forecasters say apparent temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s are possible across inland Southwest Florida, with a 70–90 percent chance of wind chills falling below 35 degrees. The coldest conditions are expected overnight through early Monday morning.

A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for the Lake Okeechobee region as well as Southwest Florida, where prolonged exposure to the cold could be hazardous. The advisory highlights an increased risk for cold-related impacts, particularly for people spending extended time outdoors.

The National Weather Service warns that very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure, even in parts of South Florida that typically experience mild winter conditions.

Residents are encouraged to take precautions, including:

  • Wearing warm layers and checking on neighbors
  • Bringing pets indoors and ensuring they have adequate warmth
  • Protecting sensitive plants from the cold

The coldest apparent temperatures are expected inland, while coastal areas may remain slightly warmer.
