Ann Arbor, MI – Ann Arbor firefighters conducted a dramatic water rescue on Wednesday night, saving a child and two adults from the Huron River.
According to the City of Ann Arbor Fire Department, emergency units responded to a call around 8:03 p.m. near Broadway Park. Firefighters found the trio clinging to a tree immediately east of the Broadway Bridge. Rescue teams used life jackets and rescue lines to save the child and one adult, while a boat crew rescued the remaining adult. None of the individuals required transportation to the hospital. The Ann Arbor Police Department and Huron Valley Ambulance assisted at the scene.
The fire department emphasized the river’s strong current due to recent rains and urged the public to wear life jackets when on the Huron River.
