Leeds, ME – Two teenagers are facing felony charges after a pair of overnight convenience store burglaries allegedly unfolded across Androscoggin County, leaving investigators to piece together a trail of stolen merchandise and damaged property.

According to the Androscoggin County Sheriffโ€™s Office, the incidents began in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 24, 2026, when authorities received an alarm from a closed convenience store in Leeds. Deputies reportedly found the business had been forcibly entered through a glass door, and merchandise was allegedly stolen before suspects fled the scene.

Authorities say a second burglary was reported shortly afterward at another closed convenience store in Wayne. Based on timing and similarities in the alleged crimes, investigators determined the incidents were likely connected, a conclusion later supported by surveillance footage and witness statements.

Deputies began searching for a suspect vehicle and soon located one matching the description on Church Hill Road in Leeds. Officials said the occupants were contacted, and two individuals were identified as suspects. Both were allegedly intoxicated after consuming stolen alcohol, and one of them reportedly admitted to committing the burglaries.

The suspects were identified as 18-year-old Wyatt Dove of Leeds and 18-year-old Hunter Mathieu of Farmington. Both were taken into custody and transported to the Androscoggin County Jail. They have been charged with burglary, a Class C felony, and aggravated criminal mischief, a Class C felony.

Detectives later executed a search warrant at a residence connected to the suspects, where additional stolen property was allegedly recovered. Investigators also reported finding items believed to be linked to a separate burglary in Livermore from 2025, which remains under investigation.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
