Amarillo, TX – Halloween festivities across the Texas Panhandle will enjoy mild, calm conditions early this evening before temperatures take a sharp dip after sunset, according to the US National Weather Service Amarillo TX.

Afternoon highs will reach the mid- to upper 60s across much of the region, with partly cloudy skies and light winds. By early evening, trick-or-treat temperatures will range from 63°F in Amarillo to 59°F in Dalhart, gradually cooling into the upper 40s by 10 p.m.

Overnight, skies will remain mostly clear with lows dropping into the upper 20s and low 30s in many locations, signaling the arrival of a chilly fall night. Areas such as Guymon, Dalhart, and Perryton may see the first frost of the season.

Forecasters say conditions will stay dry and stable, making for a comfortable evening outdoors, though residents are advised to bundle up for the late-night chill.
