Amarillo, TX – The last day of November will bring another round of winter-like cold to the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles, with highs near freezing and wind chills dipping into the single digits, according to the National Weather Service in Amarillo.

Morning temperatures are starting out in the 20s and low 30s, with northwest winds keeping wind chills in the teens throughout the day. Afternoon highs are expected to reach only the mid to upper 30s, before dropping again tonight into the teens and low 20s.

The NWS advises residents to dress warmly in layers, bring pets indoors, and let faucets drip to prevent frozen pipes overnight. Wind chills tonight could fall as low as 5–10°F in areas like Dumas, Boise City, and Guymon, with Amarillo feeling like the low teens by early Monday morning.

Cold conditions are expected to persist through midweek before a gradual warming trend late in the week.
