Pittsburgh, PA – A McKees Rocks man is behind bars after Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced his arrest on dozens of serious charges, including aggravated assault of an unborn child, aggravated assault, and kidnapping.
According to the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, 24-year-old Justin Daugherty was wanted in connection with an August 24, 2025, assault in which he allegedly attacked his pregnant ex-girlfriend after learning she had a new boyfriend. The victim told police Daugherty punched her multiple times over two days.
Authorities said on August 26, 2025, Daugherty allegedly fired a gun during a confrontation with two men who came to help the victim, injuring one. He then reportedly forced the woman and a 1-year-old child into his car, threatening further violence if she contacted police.
Investigators later determined Daugherty was hiding inside a Stowe Township home belonging to the mother of his child. Detectives executed a search warrant and found movement inside. As K9 units approached, Daugherty allegedly fled toward a first-floor window before retreating back inside, where he was taken into custody.
Police say Daugherty also faces two additional bench warrants related to prior firearm and attempted homicide cases. He is currently awaiting trial at the Allegheny County Jail.
