Pittsburgh, PA – A Pittsburgh man wanted on multiple probation violations is now in custody after detectives located him at a Clairton residence Thursday morning, authorities said.

According to the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, 50-year-old William Hudson had been a fugitive for about a month after five separate bench warrants were issued in December for probation violations. Officials said the violations stem from earlier guilty pleas involving charges such as aggravated assault, strangulation, terroristic threats, and endangering the welfare of children.

The sheriff’s office said Hudson also had an active warrant out of the City of Pittsburgh related to a drug delivery charge.

Investigators developed new information earlier this week indicating Hudson was inside a residence along Desiderio Boulevard in Clairton, located in Allegheny County, south of Pittsburgh. Detectives responded to the location Thursday morning and announced their presence for approximately 10 minutes, but initially received no response.

Authorities said detectives then observed movement inside the home and continued making announcements using an open window. Hudson later opened the door and was taken into custody without incident, officials confirmed.

Hudson was transported to the Allegheny County Jail, where he will be held pending further court proceedings. No injuries were reported, and no additional suspects were sought in connection with the arrest.

Officials did not release additional details regarding Hudson’s next court date.

Residents in the Clairton area may have noticed increased law enforcement activity during the arrest. Authorities emphasized there was no threat to the public.
