Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced Monday that 34-year-old Daniel Simcox was taken into custody without incident after detectives located him at a residence along Broadway Avenue in Beechview.
According to Pittsburgh Police, Simcox was originally arrested in September 2024 and charged with aggravated assault, burglary, and terroristic threats following an incident involving an acquaintance of his ex-girlfriend. Police say Simcox allegedly assaulted the victim, slamming them to the floor, kicking them in the head and ribs, and threatening to kill them.
Authorities issued a bench warrant after Simcox failed to appear for a non-jury trial in late July 2025. Detectives later developed information leading them to his former address, where he was found and arrested earlier today.
Simcox was transported to the Allegheny County Jail, where he is being held pending further court proceedings.
