Alert Passerby Helps Avert Major Fire at Indianapolis Breakfast Spot

Indianapolis, IN – An early morning fire erupted at the Sun Shine Breakfast House and Grill on West 38th Street today, drawing a swift response from local fire crews. An alert passerby noticed smoke around 6:12 a.m. and immediately alerted authorities, potentially averting a more severe incident.

According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, the blaze began on the restaurant’s roof and appeared to involve the HVAC system. Firefighters from the Indianapolis Fire Department, along with Speedway and Pike Township crews, arrived quickly and brought the fire under control, minimizing damage.

The Board of Health was also called to assist in assessing any structural or health-related concerns. No injuries were reported, and the fire was largely contained to the roof area, thanks to the prompt response by the fire crews. Investigators are examining the cause of the fire, which remains unknown at this time.
