Albuquerque Weather: Scattered Thunderstorms Early Week, Sunshine Returns by Thursday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A brief spell of unsettled weather is moving through central New Mexico, bringing scattered showers and a few thunderstorms to the Albuquerque metro before dry, sunny conditions return by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Albuquerque, showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue into early Tuesday morning, with additional scattered storms possible through the afternoon and evening. Some locations could see brief downpours and gusty winds, though rainfall totals are expected to remain light.

By Wednesday, skies begin to clear, with only a slight chance (20%) of isolated afternoon storms. Winds from the southeast may gust up to 20 mph, keeping temperatures mild with highs in the upper 70s. Drier air arrives Thursday, bringing mostly sunny skies and highs near 72°F — setting up a calm, comfortable end to the week.

The weekend forecast looks ideal for outdoor activities across the Rio Grande Valley, with plenty of sunshine, highs in the low to mid-70s, and cool nights dipping into the upper 30s and low 40s.
