Albuquerque, N.M. –New Mexico residents can expect ideal travel and outdoor conditions this Thanksgiving Day, with mild highs in the 50s and 60s, light breezes, and dry skies holding across the state.

According to the National Weather Service in Albuquerque, partly to mostly cloudy skies will dominate the region Thursday, but temperatures will rise 2 to 10 degrees above normal, creating comfortable conditions from Farmington to Roswell. Fair-weather cirrus clouds and calm winds are expected, especially in the east.

Albuquerque is forecast to reach the upper 50s, while southern areas like Socorro and Roswell could hit 62°F or higher. Northern communities including Taos and Raton will top out in the upper 40s to low 50s. Travel conditions across interstates and mountain passes remain favorable through Friday.

By Saturday, colder air begins moving in, with a possible winter storm system taking shape late in the weekend. Forecasters caution that confidence is still low on the track and timing of the storm, but early impacts could begin as soon as Sunday morning. A scenario bringing snow to the Four Corners and I-40 corridor remains possible into early next week.

More updates are expected as models refine. Residents should check forecasts regularly heading into Sunday.
