Albany, NY – Residents across eastern and upstate New York can expect a cool and partly cloudy day Thursday, with temperatures ranging from the 40s in the Adirondack high terrain to the upper 50s in the valleys, according to the National Weather Service in Albany.

Forecasters say morning hours will stay mainly dry, but isolated afternoon showers could develop across portions of the Capital Region and Hudson Valley. Meanwhile, lake-effect rain will continue in the Adirondacks, particularly around Old Forge and Newcomb.

Highs will reach the mid-50s for Albany, Glens Falls, and Pittsfield, with slightly warmer readings near Poughkeepsie and Kingston. Cooler air lingers across higher elevations, where temperatures may stay in the upper 40s.

Looking ahead, forecasters expect another round of scattered showers Friday before drier weather and mild temperatures return for the weekend.
