Albany Weather Forecast: Dry Through Saturday, Rain Chances Return Sunday

Albany, NY – Residents across eastern New York and western New England can expect mostly sunny, warm, and dry conditions Thursday, with highs reaching the upper 70s, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). A few clouds may develop later this afternoon north and west of Albany as a weak cold front approaches.

According to the NWS Albany office, dry weather will continue into Saturday. Rain chances increase Saturday night into Monday, with a few thunderstorms possible on Sunday. Precipitation probabilities climb to 40–55% Sunday afternoon for areas including Albany, Bennington, and Brattleboro.

High temperatures are forecast to remain near or slightly above normal, generally between 75 and 79 degrees through midweek. The warmest day in Albany is expected next Wednesday, September 17, with highs near 80 degrees. Cooler spots like Old Forge and Piseco will see highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.

After the weekend showers, conditions are expected to dry out again Tuesday into Wednesday, setting up a stretch of seasonable and calm weather across the region.
