Albany, NY – Unsettled weather is expected to continue across eastern New York and western New England through next week, with periods of rain, snow, and colder temperatures, according to the National Weather Service in Albany.

Forecasters say a series of low-pressure systems will bring showers Friday night through Sunday, with some snow accumulation possible west of the Hudson River Valley. A coastal low early next week could add more rain and snow through Monday, followed by lake effect snow showers lasting into midweek.

Moderate snow accumulations are possible in the western Adirondacks and western Mohawk Valley, where colder air will take hold. Temperatures are forecast to trend from seasonal this weekend to below normal for much of next week, with highs in the 40s and lows in the 30s.

Drivers and residents should prepare for slick roads in higher elevations and variable travel conditions during the early-week snow chances.
