Albany, NY – Evening showers are expected to move through parts of the Capital Region tonight, but skies will clear by midday Sunday, making way for a mainly dry and comfortable stretch into midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Albany, light rain is likely from late Saturday through early Sunday across southern and eastern areas, including Poughkeepsie, Pittsfield, and Kingston, where rain chances peak at 60% to 80% overnight. By Sunday afternoon, a broad area of high pressure will usher in cooler nights and seasonable daytime temperatures across eastern New York and western New England.

From Monday through at least Thursday, forecast models show minimal chances for precipitation—generally 5% or less across most locations including Amsterdam, Bennington, and Saratoga Springs. High temperatures will hold steady in the low to mid-70s, with lows dipping into the 40s and 50s overnight, especially in higher elevations like Old Forge and Gloversville.

Drivers heading out early Sunday should be mindful of lingering wet roads, particularly in the southern Hudson Valley. Once skies clear, residents can expect ideal weather for outdoor plans, school activities, and travel with no significant weather disruptions in sight.

Dry conditions are expected to hold through late week, with only a slight uptick in rain chances next weekend.
