Albany, N.Y. – Warm weather will hold over the Capital Region through Sunday, but a shift toward cooler conditions early next week will follow a weekend rain risk. Saturday will bring only scattered showers, but forecasters warn of a greater chance for afternoon and evening thunderstorms on Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Albany, most of the region will see high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s through Sunday, with overnight lows in the 60s. Storm chances jump to 45–55% Sunday afternoon in Albany, Glens Falls, and Kingston, bringing the potential for brief downpours and gusty winds.

Saturday’s precipitation chances remain low, between 10–20% for most locations, but clouds could build by late afternoon. Travel conditions may deteriorate Sunday afternoon, particularly along I-87 and I-90 during peak storm activity.

Residents should secure outdoor items before Sunday and remain weather-aware, especially if planning outdoor events. After the storms move through, dry weather and cooler temperatures return Monday, with highs in the 70s and lower humidity.
