Albany, N.Y. – A cooler, drier stretch has settled over eastern New York after Sunday’s cold front, but midweek could bring some scattered showers before a warmer pattern returns by the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Albany, most of the region will stay dry through Tuesday with highs in the mid-70s and lows dropping into the 50s overnight. Humidity will remain low, making for a noticeably more comfortable start to the week. The best chance for rain arrives late Wednesday into Wednesday night, with scattered showers possible across the Hudson Valley, Capital Region, and western Massachusetts.
Poughkeepsie, Kingston, and Pittsfield could see the most measurable rainfall Wednesday evening, though totals are expected to remain light. Glens Falls, Amsterdam, and Saratoga Springs may escape with just brief sprinkles. Roads could become slick during the Wednesday evening commute, and officials advise drivers to use caution if showers develop.
Conditions turn warmer again by Friday, with highs pushing back into the low to mid-80s. Another chance for more widespread storms is not expected until late next weekend.
