Albany, New York – Today is Sunday, and temperatures will trend milder across eastern New York this week before rain increases midweek.

According to the US National Weather Service in Albany, daytime highs will climb steadily through Tuesday, reaching the low to mid-40s in many valley communities. Areas along the Interstate 90 corridor, including Albany and Schenectady, are expected to see highs near 44 degrees Tuesday, while mid-Hudson Valley locations such as Kingston could approach the upper 40s.

By Wednesday, conditions turn wetter. Forecast data shows rain chances rising to 80% across much of the Capital Region and Hudson Valley, including communities along Interstate 87. Periods of rain may continue into Thursday with additional precipitation chances ranging from 30% to 60% into Friday.

Temperatures remain relatively mild compared to recent weeks, with highs generally in the upper 30s to low 40s through late week. Overnight lows are forecast in the 20s to lower 30s, limiting widespread snow concerns in valley areas during the midweek system.

Communities farther north and at higher elevations, including areas near Glens Falls and the southern Adirondacks, could see slightly cooler temperatures but are still expected to trend milder overall.

Midweek commuters along I-87 and I-90 should prepare for wet roadways Wednesday, particularly during peak travel hours.
