Albany, NY – Mostly cloudy skies and spotty snow showers could create minor travel concerns Saturday, especially in higher terrain areas along I-87 and I-90.

According to the National Weather Service in Albany, today will feature generally cloudy conditions with a slight chance of snow showers, particularly west and east of the Hudson Valley. Higher elevations, including areas near Glens Falls, Bennington and the southern Green Mountains, have the best chance to see brief snow bursts.

Afternoon high temperatures will range from near 32 degrees in Albany and Hunter to the mid-30s in Glens Falls and Pittsfield. Farther south toward Poughkeepsie along I-84, highs may reach the lower 40s.

While widespread accumulation is not expected, passing snow showers could briefly reduce visibility and create slick spots on untreated roads, especially along I-87 through the Adirondack Northway corridor and I-90 west toward Herkimer. Elevated and rural roadways are most susceptible.

Drivers traveling Saturday afternoon and early evening should remain alert for changing conditions in higher elevations, where temperatures will hover near freezing.

Temperatures remain near normal for mid-February, with no major winter storm systems immediately impacting eastern New York or western New England.
