Albany, NY – The National Weather Service in Albany reports that a wet and chilly start to the week is expected across the Capital Region, with rain tonight transitioning to a mix of rain and snow showers by Tuesday.
Light rain and patchy fog will continue overnight Sunday, with temperatures holding near 44°F before dropping into the upper 30s by morning. Monday will bring periods of rain tapering off midday, followed by a slight chance of showers Monday night.
By Veterans Day, colder air will settle into the region as winds increase from the west at 20–25 mph, gusting as high as 33 mph. A mix of rain and snow showers is expected through Tuesday night, though any snow accumulation will be minimal.
Highs will remain in the mid-40s through midweek, with chilly nights dipping into the low 30s. Forecasters note a chance for additional rain or snow showers late Wednesday into Thursday before drier, sunnier weather arrives Friday.
Motorists should watch for reduced visibility in fog and slick spots during early morning commutes as temperatures fall near freezing.
