Gainesville, FL – The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office is marking the 34th anniversary of an unsolved 1991 homicide and is asking the public to come forward with any new information that could help bring justice to the victim’s family.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 27-year-old Miguel Pineda was found deceased outside the front door of Pizza King, then located at 330 NW 39th Avenue in Alachua County, on November 4, 1991. Investigators determined Pineda had been shot during what appeared to be a robbery.
Despite extensive investigation, the case remains unsolved more than three decades later. Detectives continue to pursue new leads and encourage anyone with knowledge about the case to reach out.
Authorities say information—no matter how small—could help finally solve the case and bring closure to Pineda’s loved ones.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Investigator Todd Hand at (352) 367-4164, (352) 756-3308, or thand@alachuasheriff.org. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Alachua County Crime Stoppers at 352-372-STOP.
