HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Thunderstorms are expected to continue across Huntsville and Madison County Saturday morning, bringing periods of rain and the chance of thunder before conditions steadily improve by evening. Wet roads may slow drivers through midday, but clearing skies will set the stage for a sunny and warm stretch beginning Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, showers will remain likely through early afternoon, with up to half an inch of rain possible in some areas. Winds from the north could gust up to 20 mph, making for breezy conditions as storms exit the region.

By Saturday night, skies will clear, dropping lows into the upper 50s. Sunday will turn sunny with highs near 80, and the warming trend will continue into early next week. Monday and Tuesday are expected to be bright and dry, with highs in the mid-80s, marking the start of a warm, late-summer stretch across North Alabama.

Residents should use caution on wet roads Saturday morning, but outdoor plans will be safe beginning late afternoon and into Sunday.
