Huntsville, AL – Light rain glistens on rooftops and pavement this early Sunday as scattered showers move east through the Tennessee Valley. Skies remain gray through midmorning, but clearing is already visible to the west — a sure sign Alabama’s latest weather shift is underway. The National Weather Service in Huntsville says the rain will end by late morning, giving way to sunshine and a high near 70°F by afternoon.

Winds will turn north at 10 to 15 mph, with occasional gusts near 30 mph before calming into the evening. Tonight will be clear and crisp, dipping to the mid-40s as calmer air settles across Madison County.

Monday marks the start of a pleasant, extended stretch of fall weather. Highs will climb to the low 70s with full sun and light south breezes. Tuesday continues the trend, offering mild afternoons near 74°F and cool nights perfect for outdoor plans, early decorating, or yard work.

By Thursday and Friday, clouds return as a weak front approaches, bringing a 20 to 30 percent chance of scattered showers. Forecasters say a secondary push of cooler air could follow into the weekend, hinting at a more noticeable fall chill ahead.

For now, North Alabama can look forward to several picture-perfect days — a welcome break after a soggy Sunday start.
