Huntsville, AL — Residents should prepare for warm temperatures this weekend, with highs reaching into the mid-80s by Friday. The National Weather Service forecasts a shift in weather patterns by Sunday, with a cold front bringing cooler air into the region. As of Thursday, temperatures are expected to remain warm, continuing through Saturday before cooler air takes over Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, highs on Friday could reach up to 86°F, with clear skies and a slight breeze from the north-northeast. Friday night will bring mostly clear skies and calm conditions, with temperatures dropping to 58°F. This stretch of warm weather continues into Saturday, though the highs will slightly decrease to 82°F. As the weekend progresses, a cold front will pass through, bringing Sunday’s highs down to 77°F and setting up a noticeable cool-down by the evening.

Roadways like U.S. 231 and I-565 are expected to experience increased heat due to the high temperatures, so motorists are advised to stay hydrated and avoid leaving children or pets in parked vehicles, as interior temperatures will rise rapidly.

The cool-down begins on Sunday, when temperatures will drop to the mid-70s, providing some relief after the unseasonably warm days. Expect mostly sunny skies to continue into early next week, with highs in the upper 70s and lows dipping into the 50s overnight.
