Mobile, AL – A strong thunderstorm is impacting southwestern Baldwin County early Sunday morning, bringing gusty winds and hail to the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Mobile, the storm was located four miles southeast of Fort Morgan at 12:59 a.m. CST, moving east at 50 mph. The storm is producing wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel-sized hail.
Residents in Orange Beach, Fort Morgan, Gulf Shores, and Bon Secour should prepare for potential impacts, including falling tree limbs and unsecured objects being blown around. Minor damage to outdoor property is possible.
Frequent cloud-to-ground lightning is accompanying this storm, with the potential to strike up to 10 miles from the thunderstorm. Officials urge residents to seek shelter indoors if outdoors.
