HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Fog and scattered storms could slow morning commutes across Madison County today, creating hazards for drivers on U.S. 72 and I-565 before calmer conditions return Thursday. Low visibility and slick roads remain the biggest concerns during the morning hours.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms will develop after 4 p.m. Wednesday. Patchy fog will continue early, with conditions improving through the day as clouds break. Tonight’s low dips to 66 degrees under partly cloudy skies.

Thursday brings a sharp change as sunshine dominates with highs near 92. Light west winds around 5 mph will help dry conditions, though rising afternoon heat could pose challenges for outdoor activities. Friday looks even warmer, reaching 93 with abundant sunshine and light breezes.

The weekend holds steady under mostly sunny skies with highs in the lower 90s. While conditions remain dry, the mix of summer heat and early fall humidity will demand extra caution for anyone spending extended time outdoors. Staying hydrated and limiting strenuous afternoon activity is advised.

Residents should plan around lingering fog and storm chances today, but prepare for a stretch of warm, dry weather from Thursday through early next week.
